Due to market requirements and the spirit of the times, we have a wide range of products, so sometimes at first glance it is not entirely clear which material is applied to certain areas of the car.
Let's explain in detail:
Interior roof.
Since this area is not so strongly exposed to vibration, we recommend the classic vibro-damper Favorit 15 as the first layer.
However, the sounds of rain and wind are much more tangible here, so we glue our acoustic felt 10KS as a second layer - this is an excellent car noise absorber with unique acoustic properties. It perfectly absorbs both external and internal noise in the car.
The basis of the felt is made up of environmentally friendly materials, in addition, it is not subject to decay. Thanks to this, it can be used as a second layer and for the floor under the rear seats and the trunk. However, take into account the design features - when gluing with 10-mm material, make sure that the trim and interior parts during assembly can then fall into place.
Floor and trunk.
One of the most vibro-loaded areas of the car, therefore, they need materials with a high value of the MLF (mechanical loss factor) and a mastic thickness of at least 3 mm. Smartmat Indigo 30 is just such a material. Its key benefits:
- a unique metal-polymer composition of mastic, which increases MLF of the material to 0.49 c.u.
- 100 micron foil. It provides maximum comfort for rolling the material, virtually eliminating breaks even in the most curved areas of the body.
Moreover, as a second sound absorbing layer, we advise you to stick Smartmat Dalmatin. It is a re-foamed flexible polyurethane foam with polymer impregnation. Its function is to absorb airborne noise inside the vehicle interior, because it has a high sound absorption capacity. The material is resistant to changes in humidity and temperature. Due to its good elasticity, the Dalmatin is perfectly formed and completely fits the processed part. It is also used as a structural and cushioning material.
The advantage of the material can be attributed to the fact that Dalmatin has the most aesthetic appearance among sound absorbing materials.
Doors.
The classic scheme is suitable here: Favorite 20 and Smartflex 6 doors are installed inside the metal panel of the door, Favorite 20 on the outside of the metal panel, and Corrector Plus 10 on the plastic panel. Significant changes in humidity and temperature are a familiar aggressive environment inside the doors, therefore Smartflex 6 is ideal for this area. Its indispensability in door tuning is ensured not only by its exceptional soundproofing properties, but also by waterproof glue and a reinforced layer for maximum material strength.
